The LORD Is My Rock

When troubles and pain weigh heavily on me Oh LORD, forgive my human weaknesses and be near to me.  I work unceasingly day and night to rise above the shortcomings of the flesh.
I know without Your spirit in me, I am like the leaves of the trees — here one season and gone the next.  There is  permanency only in Your Law Heavenly Father and that's why I delight
in doing Your will.

Your word is the rock of my salvation.  Times come and times go, kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall, men are born and men die, but only God and His Law remain as the rock of ages.  Let me anchor my boat to this pillar, let me fasten my burden to this hitching post, let God be the cornerstone of my life.

For what is man without God?  And why do we live if not to honor our Lord.  Yes, this is everlasting truth — that all those who come to God and trust in His love shall be nourished with everlasting wheat, shall be quenched with the living waters.

Father, I pray that I may always eat of Your eternal wisdom and drink of Your comforting and immortal spirit.  Purify me my Creator, wash  clean my sins so that I may some day bask in the warmth of Your  everlasting light.  Father, I give You all praise, honor and glory -- now and forever.

Winning At The Game Of Life

Dear LORD, please help me be a good sport
in the game of life.  I’m not asking for an easy place
in the lineup.  In fact, put me anywhere You need me.  I will always
try to give You one hundred percent of everything I have.

If all the hard drives seem to come my way, then I thank You for the
compliment, knowing that You never send Your players more trouble
than they can handle.

I also ask You LORD, to help me accept the bad breaks as part of the game and may I always play on the square despite what others may do. Help me to keep reading and studying “The Book” so I’ll always know the rules.

And if the natural turn of events goes against me and I’m benched
either for sickness or old age, help me to accept that as part of the game too.  Keep me from whimpering that I was framed
or that I got a raw deal.

And lastly, my LORD, when my final inning comes, I ask for no laurels.  My only goal is to know in my heart that I played as well as I could and that I didn’t let You down.
