Lord — Give Me A New Attitude

Dear LORD, I thank You for this day. I thank You for my life this morning.  I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God.  You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. 

Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to You.  I ask now for Your forgiveness.  Please keep me safe from all danger and harm.  Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.  Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.  Please broaden my mind that I can accept all of Your truth.

Let me not whine and whimper about things over which I have no control.  Let me continue to see sin through Your eyes and acknowledge it as evil.  And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive Your forgiveness.

And when this world closes in on me LORD, let me remember the example of Jesus who would always slip away and find a quiet place to pray.  I know that’s the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.  I know that even when I forget to pray, You still know the thoughts of my heart.

Continue to use me to do Your will.  Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.  Keep me strong that I may help the weak.  Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.  I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way.  I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood.  I pray for those who don't know You intimately.  I pray for those that don't believe and I thank You for giving me faith.

I pray for all my family. that they may find peace, love and joy in their homes, that they are out of debt and that all their needs are met.  I know that all of our struggles are ultimately in Your hands.

This is my prayer in Jesus’ name. 

HALLELUYAH
I Turned To The Heavens

I turned to the heavens in search of the Lord,
And found Him inside every star.
Yet even within that vast distance I knew,
My Savior would never be far.

For the Hand that bound the great cosmos,
Is the same one that gave me my life.
Which is why I will always take comfort to know
He is with me through all of my strife.

And just as He guides all those stars up above,
Through that big wheel of space and of time,
He puts out His hand to this vessel of clay,
Encouraging me in my climb.

And though that climb’s not always easy,
Since troubles often get in the way,
I turn to the Rock that is higher than high,
In my quiet I take time to pray.

For a prayer is a call to my Master,
That a child is in need of His hand,
To bear wisdom and hope and strong guidance,
So that now I might make my firm stand.

With His help I can face all my troubles,
And choose all those things that are right,
Together we’ll climb every mountain,
Just as long as I hold His hand tight.
